Absolutely the most important impact the Steam Deck has had and continues to have is basically forcing AAA studios to compile games to run natively on Linux. If nothing else, that's it.

As a full time, no apologies, zero Apple or Microsoft products in my house kind of guy, I am utterly smitten by this development trend.

I don't own a deck and not sure when I will. But my mantra is "if it doesn't run on Linux, I guess I can live without it" and the concept of FOSS-FIRST is really lovely to me.

We see a lot of posts about how favouriting posts doesn't help spread them but not enough posts about how nice it is to get favourited notifications.

It's still, in my opinion, an important part of Mastodon, this is after all social media and favouriting is a social action.
