I asked the librarian if she could direct me to the self-help section.

One thing I've learned, is women should never share a plate of nachos with men. I've tried creating a line with space, only to still see a hand reaching over to make sure I only get chips without anything on them. I'm going to ask for a sharp knife if there ever is a next time 😏

@mikemathia that's very relatable. My dad came home from work early one day and found me with the computer completely disassembled on his table. "You gonna be able to put that back together?" he asked nervously. He sat and watched me as I put it all back together. That was when he realized I had a valuable skill. Not long after that I landed my first job as a computer technician.

In the 90s my Dad was complaining to his friend that all I did was play video games on the computer. His friend, who was in IT at the time, said "He's installing software and troubleshooting/upgrading the computer to make those games work."
His friend was right. I ended up helping my high school setup their computer lab, which led to my first computer repair job, which turned into running my own IT Consulting business.
Playing computer games turned into a 25+ year career.
Encourage kids to do what they love. You never know what it might turn into.
