My second attempt at a spencerian style script using an italic 1.5mm nib on a Lamy pen.

@SquidPresident@cryptids.online Make'em work for it. Clean the classroom, or solve world hunger. Anywhere between those should be worth 2 points, right?

@freemo Very cool stuff. I mean, I can't do it, but it is very interesting to watch.

I've just got a ball point pen. It does have a clicky button on the top, though, so at least I got that going for me. :P

My i18n-tasks command works!

@Surasanji A flex nib is a nib that easilt bends under pressure. When it does the tines spread out and the line width drastically increases. This lets you control line width as you write to create fancy looking letters. Its a form of cursive italic that takes a lot of practice, the other easier form just uses a fixed wide nib and you vary line width by angle.

A flex nib, if its a good at flex, feels more like a paint brush.

@freemo That makes sense. Seems pretty fancy, but very cool stuff.

It be kind of cool to sign everything with a paint brush. Like pull it out at the store and sign your CC receipt with a paintbrush.

Presumably you'll do the proper Dali style thing and have an epic mustache and cape while doing so.

Yo, everyone out there who looks for answers from a higher power of any sort, do your thing for my friend and user @EdgarAllanFoe. Dude has been hurting, trying to find a job, and is understandably feeling discouraged and tired.

If you don't, send him a nice lil toot with "good luck" or something.

@Surasanji Doing pretty good.

We're about ready for rain to stop in Austin, TX. There's a citywide boil water notice going into the third day as flooding in the hill country has resulted in levels of silt in the water that the water treatment plants can't handle. To produce enough to meet demand they've had to dial back the treatment standards. So we're running out of (clean) water because of too much rain.

@I_dig_Frechet Well, I'm sorry to hear about that. Stay safe, my friend, boil the water or drink from bottles.

@SquidPresident@cryptids.online Knowing that someone thinks highly enough of you to act with loving kindness is surely one of the nicest feelings in the world.

Gooood Solar Cycle, ! How's everyone doing today?

I'm doing pretty good. Rainy season is just about to really start here, and we're looking at having some rain- and maybe even a thunderstorm- tomorrow on Thursday.

I love rain, and I love thunderstorms. They're made all the more special because they only happen during the winter seasons in Tel Aviv.

@freemo Neat! I've never written with a fountain pen. What exactly is a 'Flex Pen'?

Kinda excited. Just ordered a vintage fountain pen from 1910. It is made by the company that invented fountain pens and is known as one of the best Flex pens ever made. I think I'm finally done buying pens, I should have everything I need now for writing :)

A comparison of my name written with flair vs without (using a pens flex capabilities). I need better paper though and a pen with softer flex. In fact I just ordered a vintage pen from around 1910 that is one of the best flex pens of all time...

Top row is with flex/flair, bottom is without.
