@Gargron I haven't seen it. I'll probably check it out, though. Looking for a new Netflix show.

Wow, I like dipping into the huge multiverse stream and latching on to one thing with a comment. Of course, then, 30 more posts zoom by. You can only do this for a few seconds.

"Overcoming student resistance" means approximately opposite things in an active learning classroom vs a horrible Dickensian classroom.

Received this paper from a student in our Team-Based Learning class. The resistance is real. Such an exhausting semester with TBL & not sure the students of are any happier than usual (but grades & learning *are* better). @TBLearning @MiamiCTE htt…

So, my buddy from Brazil has reminded me of career advice for young people around the world. Stay away from Newtonian Physics! You'll never enjoy another movie again. Antman and the Wasp? Scaling Laws, People! A superman super-punch? F=Ma! My life is so sad....

implied systemic transphobia, call for help

@slimepunk That is fairly fucked up. Best of luck to you and your doctor.

We don’t need a Register of Copyrights that is a Presidential pawn.
We don’t need the “Register of Copyrights Selection and Accountability Act."
Tell your Senators to vote against it. eff.org/deeplinks/2018/12/tell

@hasmis You're right. But, she hadn't eaten long enough so... had to give her *something*.

So, the kitten didn't eat yesterday or the day before. At least, nothing but treats. Today I got the idea to mix some tuna into the food. She ate the tuna, at least.

I guess I'm off to get wet food for the kitty for now until I can find a dry food she likes. What a picky little bitch she is!

She's my picky bitch, though and I love her.

Women are majority of STEM grad students and they earn a majority of STEM bachelor's degrees - and have since 2004

@SecondJon @hasmis I think we need to take this article with a grain of salt, the author himself mentions in the comments that 'STEM' is apparently a super arbitrary thing and different groups use different metrics and so it's good to say that by THIS metric, Women are good to go- but apparently in other metrics, and other groups they show a wide disparity.

Good article, though. Very interesting.

Women are majority of STEM grad students and they earn a majority of STEM bachelor's degrees - and have since 2004

@SecondJon I'd really like to see their metrics, and what they're considering in each group. They have very broad categories there.

@SecondJon I can't seem to follow that link. Do you have another way to get to the piece?
