I feel like microplastics is sort of an issue. I know I don't need any microplastics accumulating in my liver. I use that for filtering blood!

An update on my small group trying to push for #environmentally friendly practices in my area

It is a nightmare. We had a lot of ideas and projects, which I talked about in another post, and right now we had to go through 3 meetings, have been insulted and are facing a lot of irrational, angry resistance for just proposing to do a 200 liters bin for the kitchen scraps in a leftist, squatted social center.

I'm not sure if being more annoyed to the irrational resistance or to the people that, by supporting the idea, are actively keeping us going there to discuss it... again... and again... and again... since one month and counting.

If their point is draining us of any enthusiasm, it's working like a charm.

New Cell Structures recently discovered according to this article. Very cool stuff that new parts and structures and functions of the cell are still being discovered to this day.

@frostotron@tenforward.social I agree. At least you can feed them.

My patch for i18n-tasks was merged! Now there is a check-consistent-interpolations command that verifies that non-base locales aren't using variables that don't exist in the base locale!

This will help prevent translations breaking Mastodon.

So it looks like Mega-Corps will be a possible play style in the upcoming update. I'm excited. I can take over the universe by way of trade and that makes me happy.

Oh Man, so looking forward to my Vacation Week. Plans so far:

Go to Ha Eretz Museum and take pictures of the stuff for my friends.

Go see the opera Werther @ the Tel Aviv opera house. I'm even going with a work friend! :D

Maybe check out this 'Luna Park' amusement park that I pass every day on my way to work.

If the new expansion/update/DLC is out, get that and figure out the changes.

More to come!

So. There MAY BE a new Nintendo Switch coming out in 2019. Something more powerful.

Makes me wonder if I shouldn't have waited for this Switch- however- I guess that means I'll have a safer homebrew/unlocking chance with this current console after I get the other one. I'd love to be able to do something more with the portable. It's really handy, and I love it.

@SquidPresident@cryptids.online Makes sense to me.

Can't let yourself get totally burnt out. Maybe a change of pace or environment will be good for you.

You know, let you breath and feel something else out and really put a finger on what you want, what you love, and what you need to be happy in a job/career!

@socialskeleton I thought your fantasy was that one where you were swimming in a pool of warm badger milk, surrounded by lovely skeletons, all of whom had brought bongos for a daily calcium drum circle....

@SquidPresident@cryptids.online My mother is a highschool teacher. All I can say is from listening to her stories, I'd be doing twenty to life in Federal prison after dealing with some of the bullshit she's got to deal with.

I would, without a doubt, beat the bejesus out of one of those kids.

Hey friends just joined, really interested by this Mastodon thing. I'm an MD/PhD student studying brain stem neurocircuits and going into psychiatry when I (FINALLY) graduate. Any brain scientists in the house?

What I do be like:

Almost noon on a Sunday. That means time for my weekly Shawarma from my favorite Shawarma place. Gotta git dat meat, sooooon.

CWed for Length. Religious/Religion discussion.

@museus@freespeech.firedragonstudios.com @cm @jonpemby @freemo I do not believe in a creator god. I feel that if there is a 'something' that created our universe, it very likely doesn't care about us any more than it does any other part of the whole.

The technology, or ability to create this universe from the smallest to the largest elements is well beyond us at this point in our existence. It is not a totally unknowable, but it is advanced beyond our current knowledge.

We should continue as if there is no creator deity- no judging force.- that dictates to us our days and nights. We should live our lives as if there is no afterlife- because if there is, it certainly doesn't affect us here in the living realm.

Our only duty as living, breathing, feeling, thinking beings is to improve our existence as a species. To advance and create and become more than we are.

So far, we've done a pretty good job. We're not where we could be- anyone can see that- but we're in a better place than we were at the turn of the 20th century. At least, in my opinion.
