@freemo I feel like I should mention something about Megatron turning into a gun, but I really don't have the brain power to turn it into a good joke.
@Expat1975 Companini. That is all.
@cm Such is the life I have chosen.
@masterofthetiger@theres.life Power supply died. I wanted an upgrade so I turned a minor inconvenience into a reason for an upgrade. I'm giving the old one, sans power supply, to a friend who's getting into coding and hasn't ever had a nicer gaming style laptop.
He demanded to pay for it, so he's buying it for a beer.
@masterofthetiger@theres.life I've seen the videos of the inverse ghosting this particular display has, and so, I'm not sure if it'll be a problem for me or not. I mean, I'm not the powergamer sort who's like 60FPS MasterRace. I don't have the energy for that sort of wank.
Been without a laptop for a week now. I remember now why I used to read a lot as a kid! :P
@cm And honestly, the issue isn't game breaking for me. I think I know enough about laptops and upgrades that I could change out the screen if required. I'm only like 1/3rd luddite.
@cm Oh, I don't have it yet, but it is on order.
@Surasanji I'm not statistics expert by any stretch of the imagination, but the first question that comes to mind is: how many total users does that piece of software have?
@cm I've been trying to find sales number for the laptop in question, but Asus is keeping that quiet. However, I have noticed that the issue is largely reported by the same 2-3 people.
Laptop in question is an Asus GS703 with 144hz Gsync screen.
Let me ask something of the people who are smarter than I am. Which, I suspect, is most of you.
Specifically, this has to do with statistics as they relate to hardware issues on a computer.
Say you search google for a particular issue you've read about, and get around 1000 total hits. Would you say that is a 'widely known' issue, or something that is affecting only a small percentage of users?
@bryceyoungquist Maybe she was drinking, or on ambien, or any other things. I don't know for sure.
Still, she needs to take responsibility for the words she said- I do feel she did so, but perhaps not loudly enough.
So, Rosanne Barr came here to Israel and claims that Antisemitism is what brought her down and I'm over here thinking, 'Didn't you compare Valerie Jarret to some kind of talking ape/Terrorist?'
I mean, she did apologize and claimed it was because of Ambien or something, but still.
I have no doubt that Rosanne's experienced antisemitism. She's not your typical Jewish person, and I know a lot of older Jewish people who have very similar world views. I still think it's a little silly to cop out on your personal responsibility there.
