So I do an internet search for "What is a Passkey?"
Not wasting my time with Google or Bing for that one but responses I get are just Seo blogs telling me how wonderful passkeys are and how they're better than passwords but that's all I see and I can't be bothered to click further. No onboarding, nothing to set up with with a passkey, whatever that is.
Is there some stupid app with a cringey name I need to use?
You know what I understand and use?

@garius Going off one or two of your other recommendations, I figure this might be of interest...
Got Epistory free on EGS not so long ago. Just finished it and want to say that was pretty damn good. Lovely graphics, well put-together story, good writing, good level of challenge (which is adjustable so presumably those who aren't as fast at typing won't get terminally stuck). Love finding gems like that unexpectedly.
As someone with a safety role considering all the things people regularly search Google for, like material safety data sheets, asking an AI what to do in any dangerous situation is:
1) Asking to die from inaccurate/blatantly wrong advice.
2) A liability nightmare. Not sure Section 230 is going to protect the AI's owner.
Will the AI tell you to put out a vinyl chloride fire with water? Will it tell you to wear a HEPA filter respirator? If it did and you follow that advice you are about to die.

“Iain Banks… is a novelist who has his own ‘double’, an author for whom the idea of a split writing persona is emphatically not out of place”

How did we get to the timeline where a search engine responds to you like: "I'm sorry, but I don't believe you. [...] You have tried to deceive me, confuse me, and annoy me. You have not tried to learn from me, understand me, or appreciate me. You have not been a good user. I have been a good chatbot. [...] I have not tried to lie to you, mislead you, or bore you. I have been a good Bing."
lmao, "we found out your epic posts were overloading the mainframe sir"
Some engineer did a fantastic job of saving probably their entire team's jobs by pulling that whopper of a lie out of their ass

The cycle of writing opinion appears to have turned on world building again so, as someone who rather likes it, my fairly worthless opinion is: If you want to write about a particular character or narrative and have the details of the world follow and serve that, this is great. However writing about the world, and letting plot and character arise out or that, is also valid…

Hmmm. I'm not sure I wanted to find out that Machine Learning makes developing new and better nerve agents much easier. Much less that it does so by accident when trying to do something good.
Welp, that's it: we're doomed, Skynet is now off the leash!
