I have never thought about it this way! I have only considered the fact that students with different kinds of disabilities do not get accepted as much into schools or programs, especially in high school where there is much competition.

@ZingerLearns @edutooters probably at least 2 different processes in that difference: (1) disabled learners select out of teaching as a possible career and (2) those who don't select out feel pressure to pass and conform, so they don't document/share their disabilities. It's much riskier to out yourself to a potential employer than to a school, even if both are required in principle to treat you fairly.

I hope y'all are understanding that CNN is right wing cosplaying as center now. There's way more important things to report on than that man — I haven't watched it (I don't dignify my time with State propaganda anymore) and I'm hoping y'all stop investing in outlets that do not give a fuck about y'all too. There's been a lot of talk today about Henry Kissinger's upcoming 100th birthday, but I've yet to see Anthony Bourdain's quote about that war criminal scroll by, and it can't be shared enough.

This conservative defense of "politeness" based on fear of being shot plays out in similar fashion in families where traditional punitive discipline frightens kids into docility. Those who value compliance above all - and who focus only on surface behavior - actually think this arrangement "works."
