It could be lost in the Artemis and holiday shuffle, but on Dec 15, #NASA and CNES will launch a $1.2 *billion* satellite, SWOT, to map the height of the world's water in unprecedented detail.

By measuring height, you unlock the changing water volume of all the major rivers and millions of lakes. And in the ocean, small scale changes in height reveal ocean eddies, an invisible keystone to in how the seas soak up carbon and heat.
