Here’s something that Twitter expats are not really understanding, not using hashtags on Mastodon is the reason your engagement is underwhelming. Mastodon doesn’t have a search function nor an algorithm to surface inflammatory nonsense all the time. Unless you tag your post it’s only going to reach your followers at the time of posting. Martin Niemöller could have included women as one of the groups in his famous poem. Our modern Christo-fascist Neo-nazis are more direct in their attacks on women than the original Nazis, but both groups seek to confine women into a very narrow role in society, effectively making them prisoners without needing to drag them away to a prison camp. There needs to be an escape route for women who find themselves trapped in such circumstances.
