The oligarchs want us to be disgusted with politics.

They love that Tr*mp makes it so nasty.

They love that people say "plague on both your houses" and tune out.

They don't have to suppress votes that aren't cast.

One thing I’ve lost in moving away from Twitter are all those people I followed in #Africa.

*Who should I be following on here who currently lives in a country in Africa? If they are doing tech, even better!*

I’m not interested those who now live in US/EU, to be clear.

Please do #repost so I can reach the answers

Since 2020, 63% of all new wealth went to the world's wealthiest 1%, according to an Oxfam report.

👋 Hello, new followers! We stopped posting on our fairly active Twitter account more than a year ago and moved here. We're the Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia, both a university museum and the official state art museum. We celebrated our 75th birthday this year, and we have a collection of over 18,000 objects: American paintings, decorative arts, works on paper, much more. Mastodon feels like a good place for us given our academic and public focus. ❤️

@joewynne @RickiTarr The goal of a butterfly garden is that when you walk into it, half your flowers fly away.

A #gulfstream G650 (Reg: N817GS) reportedly owned by #larryellison has been detected in flight since Wed Dec 27 2023 00:34:19 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time). Since then it has emitted an estimated 1623 kg of #CO2. If owner had flown commercial, the predicted average #emissions would have been 84 kg. #CO2emissions

Due to the rightward shift in US state level policies on #LGBTQIA rights and abortion, #Canada issued a travel advisory to its citizens. Deplorables' feelings are hurt. politico.com/news/2023/12/24/c

A Harvard study says that hospitals purchased by private equity firms are less safe. I can see that. There was a local nursing home owned by a New York City hedge fund that abruptly closed its doors. Luckily, a group of local investors bought it and reopened it as an assisted living facility. But many such facilities are left to rot. upi.com/Health_News/2023/12/26

“You got the stuff?”
“You got my money?”
“I wanna see them first.”
“Here you go, 50 squeaky toys.”
“How’s the quality?”
“100% pure, unchewed.”
“Santa won’t notice them missing?”
“You let me worry about that.”

The end of low interest rates is showing us what the tech companies really built over the past 15 years and it’s nothing like what their PR hacks once promised.

Everything is more expensive, more invasive, and far less innovative or improved than they led us to believe.

Silly goose, everyone knows Noah saved two of every creature from the flood with his wife Joan (of Ark)

Dr. Michael E. Mann: “If you’re looking to understand how climate change became so prominent in American politics, look no further than Gerald Kutney’s authoritative, and engaging primer on the topic, "Climate Denial in American Politics”. Having been on the frontlines of the social media “climate brawl” for years, he provides insights from the frontlines that will help you not only understand where denialism comes from, but how to join in the collective effort to fight back against it.”

I occasionally encounter hoarders, so I did a bit of reading about the condition. Hoarding consists of collecting things that are not needed and refusing to part with them. It results in stress, conflict with others, relationship issues, avoiding social activities and poor judgement. People with hoarding disorder may not see it as a problem, so getting them to take part in treatment can be challenging. But, unlike junk hoarding, wealth hoarding has an easy treatment. TAX THE RICH!
