And it gets pretty dark when you realize that the person bringing the dog shit owns the table and all the seats, and decides what is and is not allowed on the table. And if you try to set up a picnic outside the house, where you don't have to eat their shit casserole, they will come and knock all your food around on the ground and accuse you of intolerance and excluding them.

@selzero I go to Vimeo sometimes. The quality is good and it works well. And of course there's Peertube.
But the problem with all the alternatives is that they just don't have the content like Youtube. We *could* get into an ad-block Arms Race, but I think the best solution for this is to break up Google.That would fix a lot of problems, including this one.

People are annoyed by Youtube ads. Instead of spending too much energy to disable ads, start to upload your videos on Peertube:
Peertube is to Youtube what Mastodon is to Twitter. But better because people don’t need to create an account, they can subscribe to your videos channel directely with their Mastodon account (or other Fediverse tool).
