As a white liberal, I think it might help us white liberals to know what black Mastodon and the greater black community need from us to help dispell distrust and anger.

I just came back to Vancouver from Chicago last night. People are pissed. Rightly so. But that anger is also used by conservatives to divide us as a voting block and create pessimism and despair.

Forget that! The most trendy new judicial theory is "Spite Theory" -- basically you can do whatever you want if it hurts people you don't like.

You don't even need a case or injured party.

The Supreme Court just gave a victory to a bigot who lied about the primary facts of her case. This woman who sued for the right to not make wedding websites for same-sex couples, didn’t even make wedding websites at all and had never been asked to make one for a same-sex couple. The man she claimed contacted her for a same-sex wedding website is heterosexual, already married with a child, and didn’t ask for any kind of website at all. They used his name without consent. It was identity theft.

The world is in shock today as millions of US citizens took to the streets in protest of corrupt judges and politicians removing rights while making unpopular laws against the will of the people

@yogthos Considering Planet Earth as the Titanic, we've already hit the iceberg and we're already holed beneath the waterline, but if we stop right now we can prevent the rest of the watertight compartments being holed and the ship actually sinking.

We're certainly going to lose most of the third class accommodation, though, so we need a plan to find room for the third class passengers in first class, and we need it now.
