The funny thing is that it's not so much about the engineering and problem solving aspect of it. More often than not, it's just simple logistics. Basic flight-ready components have huge delivery times (sometimes more than a year) and PCB manufacturers are running at full capacity.

Me as an amateur space enthusiast: "Why do these cool missions constantly get delayed? It can't be that hard to make a realistic estimate..."

It's so weird how your job becomes a huge part of how other people view and treat you. And how unfairly some jobs are seen as more respectable than others, especially in the social and care sector

If you have a conflict between independent science on the one side and market forces/economic factors on the other side, there is no compromise.

Between the unchanging laws of nature and a human-made system to quantify value, exactly one side can be influenced, changed and compromised with.

This has been like this with tobacco, chlorofluorocarbons, DDT, fossil fuels, neonicotinoids, endocrine disruptors... The list goes on.

Yet, more often than not, independent science is ignored by those in power for the benefit of lobby groups, industry and more "realistic" and less "idealistic" solutions. Leave those people in an enclosed space with a car engine running and ask them again, which is more "real": The molecules in the air or the money in their wallets.

It's so discouraging to look at climate politics rn.

I wrote a lot of E-Mails with different people in the last few weeks and one thing I noticed is that no one seems to use encryption. Even when sensitive data is sent.
Please, just use PGP when sending E-Mails. It takes literally 10 min to set up.

I'm currently planning a vacation in Sweden and so far, all of my solo vacations have been pure long distance hiking trips. Now that I want to try something different, I... kinda don't know what to do except hike. Like, what an I gone do the whole day? Look at old buildings?
