Currently I teach computer science and robotics to teenagers. I'm hooked on Vex Robotics. I teach a bit of Physics too. My *distant* academic past was Geology and Palaeoclimatology.

I'll be looking out for feeds from CS educators and STEM people all over. Interesting local feed. I think I'm on the right server!

Here’s my take on #mastodon. It’s the good bits of #twitter & #instagram (both of which I use but for completely different purposes).

It’s got the professional interest tribes, content- & dialogue-focus of the #birdsite but the more positive, supportive vibes of #insta along with more personal interest/hobby angles in how folk cultivate their presence here. And the #hashtags.

It all feels very introspective atm about what it is/isn’t due to #twixit but it’s quite fun experimenting.

So this reminds me a great deal of that time some 14ish years ago when I joined the #birdapp and struggled to understand what it was for and how it all worked. We made lists, I recall. We were put on other people’s lists. We posted links with text only and had conversations with strangers while we looked for our tribe. Guess that’s what we’re doing here, now, as well.

Question: How the hell does a guy justify donating 129 million dollars into a SINGLE election? Love Of Democracy GTFO, Soros is an investor, he makes his money by outsmarting the next guy.

Then OK, what businesses does he own? Is he involved in businesses that make more money when the Democrats win? No. He's spread evenly across the market.

I think that what's going on here is he's washing money from someone (Putin? Xi Jinping? ...) who could never donate to US politics directly, so they do it through him.
