'By then, Einstein was public enemy No 1 in Germany. In May 1933, a brochure entitled Jews Are Watching You accused Einstein of “lying atrocity propaganda against Adolf Hitler”. Under his picture, it stated: “Not yet hanged.”

German physicist Wilhelm Röntgen died #OTD in 1923.

Nobel Prize in Physics won for his discovery of the remarkable rays subsequently named after him. In November 8, 1895, he found that, if the discharge tube is enclosed in a sealed, thick black carton to exclude all light, and if he worked in a dark room, a paper plate covered on one side with barium platinocyanide placed in the path of the rays became fluorescent even when it was as far as two metres from the discharge tube.

@Lupposofi In the real world outside of Mastodon I have a 'spellin buk' to aid me.

@bibliolater I guess my practice is just to correct it when I see it. Sometimes that happens before I press the "send" button, which is nice.

Other times it's not until someone responds and I see my typo, which I wince at.

But I also know that what I'm writing here is not important and that I have no reputation to manage or protect, so I try to go easy on myself, which is hard.

@freemo I thought that would only be the case if the toot was a form of parallel projection and orthogonal to the projection plane.

@bibliolater Yes, but only if they are orthographic in the sense of being dimensionally compressed :)

@bibliolater No, this is a safe space. Spell checkers are to judgmental.

(while this shouldnt need to be said.... this is a joke)

@Bodling I have so many typing errors and missteps in my toots I wonder what the answer would be then?

@bibliolater wouldn't improve it for me. Too many different languages, abbreviations, dialects, and bits of oddments. I feel like I'd always be uncorrecting the spell check.
