Hi, going mad trying to find a quote Im sure I've read by a Francoist general who said after the Spanish Civil War something like "We couldn't have won the war without Ford"
(Thanks to all the trucks sent at very advantageous longterm loans.)
Can anyone help? Many thanks!!!

'Driscoll is a victim of McCarthyism. The office he holds is now a mere electoral toy to be enjoyed by a favoured faction. #Solidarity with University of #Kent academics who were told a few months ago their jobs were safe, only to told now, they're not.
FYI - the marking and assessment boycott of #UCUrising is STILL ON. Our employers haven't budged, only 3 uni VCs have stuck their head above the parapets to call for talks, all the while students are seeing their degrees massively diluted as huge swaths of work goes unmarked.
6 weeks of this shit and still nothing. We fight on.

Work has to be publishable - I've struggled with ML applied to biology. CS reviewers want novel models, bio reviewers want novel biology. If you sit in the middle, both are disappointed.
I do research in visual/computational neuroscience, spend too long doing Linux admin and not long enough demonstrating against the shitshow that is the UK government....
