There’s nothing like a great station at first light. All that mighty heart is lying still.
A crow has just flown right through the engine shed, cawing to itself. The only sound. #Amsterdam
@freemo @georgetakei what a shame. Thanks for the reply
#twitterrefugees #riptwitter #newbies #twittermigration Newcomers, if you are wondering who can see your posts, you can control the scope by pressing the globe symbol when you are writing. Public - everyone can see, Unlisted - use this for replies in threads - everyone can see, but it doesn’t repost in the local or federated timelines, so doesn’t clog things up, Followers only - does what it says , Direct - only to people you @ in the message. @freemo @georgetakei oh gawd, what happened with Wil?
On here? I can recommend looking into lists, they're kind of additional timelines for your own use. So if someone spams a lot but you'd still like to be able to see their posts fairly easily, you could dump them in a list timeline that you name 'Spammy people I follow' or something. :)
@admin oh yes that would be frustrating too!
Wow! First time ever seeing The Hunger (1983), telling the story of a vampire like woman’s endless lie. Bowie’s alieness worked marvellously, whereas Deneuve’s total detachment and lack of emotion said more in a single look that 10 pages of script, with Tony Scott visual flair, and purposeful soundtrack. A rare film that makes Sarandon look ordinary. Magnificent.

@firehorsemia Sparrows learned how to activate the motion sensors at the cafe nearest my work so they could open the doors. The cafe had to install a push button for humans to use. So the sparrows just hung around waiting for humans to open the door for them instead...
As I attempt to go back off grid for the first time in decades, this time with a family in tow, I'm struck by just how much the solar, and by extension renewable energy, industry has changed.
What once was geared towards people living an alternative lifestyle is now centered around making yuppies in the suburbs believe that they're saving the world if they grid-tie some solar panels on their roof and charge their Tesla at home. It's populated by "business managers" who are only interested is seeing how many shoddily done jobs they can slap up in a short amount of time who mask that fact by pretending to care about the environment to their customers.
I have yet to have a positive interaction with anyone in the industry about actual self-sustainability. They just don't care. It's all so....corporate and phony now.
This is a real disappointment in my current life. Can't even drop out of society effectively anymore.
@PascalE57 @RDHale@mastodon.online my point being that the ego drives him to make stupid decisions. If he'd calm down and think he'd do a lot better. He's not naturally a fool but he makes foolish choices in the heat of the drama. But we can agree to differ :)
Today's Flickr picture is one of the many interesting things to be seen when walking by the river Thames in London. My partner and I have walked both banks in stages over a period of a few years. This lifting (or bascule) bridge carries Rotherhithe Street over the entrance to Surrey Water.

Sweary and opinionated. It's best not to take it personally. Also hilarious but that might be less obvious.
