As right-wing extremists are re-platformed everywhere from Twitter to Mar-a-Lago, it’s more important than ever that we hold our journalists, researchers, & others to high standards of accountability when it comes to reporting on extremism and extremists. We need journalists who will tell us the truth, not stake out a position in the middle of two unequal sides. But summarizing it, the article says that during the pandemic lockdowns in Santiago de Compostela, there was a chance to study pavement temperature. It was discovered that in places where the grass and moss was not removed, the temperature was up to 20 degrees lower than in places where it was.

More moss and grass make our physical spaces more liveable in these times of #ClimateCrisis.

The nearest green space to where I live is alongside the Hogsmill river. When the weather is agreeable I like to get a bit of exercise by going for a walk there, and sometimes I take my camera. This picture from February 2020 shows that even in the London suburbs you can find a bit of peace and quiet.

I am a GP, I should understand these things, but today it just feels like everything is 💩.
I’ve been seeing people with mental health problems since, well probably 1983, when as a medical student we did shifts as nurses at New Cross Hospital.
I feel overwhelmed today, just nonspecifically down. For absolutely no obvious reason. It’s completely irrational, I know, but that doesn’t matter. I really have nothing to worry about. If it all goes t1ts up, I can afford to live.
I remember my first panic attack. Driving up the A21 in Kent, to go Christmas shopping at Bluewater. Had the chest tightness, palpitations, unable to breathe. I pulled over & stayed in a lay-by for 30 minutes. I laughed because I knew it was irrational, but it was real & I couldn’t control it.
So I just post this for anyone else who worries that the way they feel is irrational and people won’t understand. I am a very experienced doctor and I understand. Don’t worry, it does pass, things will get better. Trust me, I’m a doctor!
