I know this time of your is fraught with arguments as to whether #DieHard is a #Christmas movie or an #ActionMovie.

The TRUTH is that #DieHard is a #LoveStory between two men, so constricted by the societal norms for these two #PoliceOfficers from opposite Coasts, that it took blowing up #NakatomiPlaza to make it ok for them to embrace.

Review of "Your Christmas or Mine" (the new Amazon Christmas movie)

Pluses: Genuinely made me laugh a few times. Solid plot. Doesn't try to overcomplicate things.

Major minus: VERY poor understanding of actual railway timetabling or routes out of Marylebone.

Advantage of work blowing my body-clock to pieces: I'm awake at 4am. Been for a walk, had coffee on the harbour, taken some photos, been to Moore's and had a lovely, long chat and cuppa with Wills, collected my Christmas food order and am now home and deciding between a nap and breakfast. As in which first, clearly the general answer is "both"! 🙂

The holidays can be a really tough time. The advice i often heard was, "Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Help others. Get out of your head." It's perfectly fine advice, but unhelpful if the mere thought of interacting with people is overwhelming. Anyway, here's a thing I did one year that did help:

I bought a Cookie Monster costume, went to the airport, and waited at arrivals with a sign that said "COOKIE"

Didn't have to talk to anyone and boy did I get to watch people's faces light up.

As part of my continued efforts to look after myself properly when working and despite a) it being the last day of attendance before Christmas for me and b) having a shedload of stuff to get done so everyone got the medication they needed and c) having not covered myself in gourmet glory yesterday after chips for lunch and toast for tea, today I went back to the tapas restaurant round the corner and had a truly lovely lunch. Even if I did have to rush a bit. Also, I really like their plates.
