It was easy to get sucked in, too, at #birdshite, but that was being sucked into a rage-filled argument.

Here one gets sucked in by a magnificent, non-stop parade of beauty, wit & wisdom. One gets sucked in to other peoples' lives and thoughts and worries and concerns. That's because there's no algorithm standing between us all.

And, so, we (finally!) get to meet each other with zero interference from rich guys or boards of directors. All I can say is, I soooooo wish I had met you all sooner..

Okay, so I used to regularly do this on the other site, but now let's do this here: If you are a reporter and you are writing about a lawsuit where you have access to the complaint and DON'T link to the complaint in your article, you are failing at your job.

Under the conditions of kyriarchy, oppression is not merely one group dominating over another. Rather, it is a complex matrix of status/power which includes many different groups existing in dominance over other groups, with individuals who have memberships in both dominant groups and oppressed groups. As such, any one person can serve as both oppressor and oppressed depending upon who they are interacting with and the social context of the interaction.

Reminder to anyone who supports the NYT staff's labor action: unless a miracle happens and we get a contract deal by midnight, we will be walking out for one day tomorrow, Dec. 8.

We'll be asking supportive readers to abstain from visiting/using NYT offerings for the day, midnight to midnight. That means articles. That means multimedia. That means... Wordle.

I know. That one pains me too. But maybe the word will be like LYMPH and we'll all be lucky to miss it.
