I do not mind having a 1x/1080p/non-retina monitor, but sometimes when I'm taking screenshots I wish I could temporarily get the computer to *pretend* it was rendering at 2x. It seems like this at minimum shouldn't be hard when taking screenshots of web pages. I wonder if there's a Chrome plugin for it already.

I know I'm like 16 years late to this party, but I could never get into the text version of #DwarfFortress. The game itself sounds fascinating, but I couldn't ever get enough time to invest in understanding the interface.

But now, as of earlier this month, the developers have released a graphical version of the game. I spent entirely too much time yesterday playing it. It's amazing: the detail, the depth, the seemingly endless world of possibility.
