I did my annual waiting list check today… thinking it’d be my last… and it’s gone up again by more months than have passed… honestly are they actually seeing anyone??

Anyway it’d be nice to get some good news on it and the glp things is the biggest hope on that.

For New Year's Day, let's talk about years, and about money!

The way people who wear suits think about exponential growth is the "rule of 72", which is that if you have an account or investment that pays R percent interest per year, the number of years to double your money is about 72/R. Where did that magic 72 come from?

Well, of course I like to think about continuous processes. With continuous compounding the money will grow like 𝑒ʳᵗ where r is the rate expressed as a fraction.
