@shoq The 1/10/100 rule has always been there on user-generated-content sites, as we used to call 'social media'… 10% of users occasionally comment, 1% of users post most of the original content. Funny to see it talked up as a sign of something more than what it is — expected ratios of investigating, lurking, and participating.
Hello, me.dm!

Sitting at a traffic light an hour ago, I saw a transfer-style sticker in the rear window of the SUV in front of me, that read
WHY ARE YOU WEARING A MASK IN YOUR CAR??
Two things came to mind:
1) Why are you so concerned about what other people do to protect themselves and others that you not only obsess over it but actually went to the trouble to obtain and apply this message to the back window of your car?
2. I often don't bother to pull my mask off right away when I get into the car. Sometimes I don't get around to taking it off at all between stops. Because unlike you, I don't like to imagine that my mask is hurting me, and I genuinely forget about it sometimes.

I took the shot this morning. I almost stayed in because it didn't look like the sky was going to do anything. Glad I went out.

I’m imagining a story that does place the Resurrection in a very prominent place but also leaves things ambiguous as to whether it literally happened, and instead focuses on what all these extremely complicated, freaked out people are doing in response to this world-shattering thing that’s happened. How they reckon with it and what they themselves believe.
It’s a *great story*.

I'm very happy with the additional level of detail I'm getting in this animation render after merging the two models.
This is a still frame from a 40 second animation. It should take about another 9 hours to finish.
TODAY IN QUEER TV HISTORY
TALES OF THE CITY - 1/12/1994, PBS
Today in 1994, PBS ran the final installment of the fun British miniseries ARMISTEAD MAUPIN'S TALES OF THE CITY (the first of several series based on Maupin's novels) set in 1970s San Francisco. Some PBS stations canceled it and certain stations aired a censored version.
It was, I think, the first nationally aired series on U.S. TV that just took it as read that gay people exist, bi people exist, straight people exist, and trans people exist, and presented all their stories unapologetically without distancing the audience from queer characters. The same-sex couples were filmed at least as frankly as other couples, and the major trans character had a love story.
In the mid to late 90s, right-wing state and federal lawmakers used the series as one of their pretexts for slashing funding to public television, arguing that PBS was promoting perversion and immorality. #LGBTQ #gay #queer #trans #lesbian #bisexual #MediaStudies
