2001-2002: “We will not negotiate with terrorists”
2023: “Let’s have a reasonable discussion with Nazis.”
🤦🏾♂️
I’ve said it before in a previous instance I was on. I’ll say it again here. And I’ll say it until folks get it: I would be absolutely livid if I fought and helped defeat Nazis in the 1940s only to live long enough to watch Nazism be openly embraced, accepted, and normalized by this country 80 years later. I wouldn’t be able to help but question my entire time in the service and the sacrifices of those who fought beside me and lost their lives.
I came up in the 90s and 2000s, watching everyone on TV and in movies idolize the “Greatest Generation”. With this recent rise in (and encouragement of) Nazism, this country has negated and invalidated ALL of that. I don’t wanna hear ANY of the America First/Freedom Caucus loonies talk glowingly about WW2 vets when they freely support the very same culture the “Greatest Generation” fought against. 😡

I have lived in this area for 14 years and I have never seen snow on the mountains. ❄️🏔️

The phrase "government approved book" or "government approved curriculum" should alarm everyone. #Indoctrination is the process of teaching people to accept ideas uncritically. Only presenting one idea and banning & demonizing any idea that counters it meets the definition.
In short, #Florida is seeking to indoctrinate students.

Hello. I paint pictures, mostly of Ireland, but for 11 yrs now I've been a full-time unpaid carer, so time to paint is rare.
I've cycled across America and across Europe, and among other cycling adventures did a painting twitter tour around Ireland.
Once upon a time I was a programmer, and an analyst.
I like dogs and birds and walls and shapes, and I drink an awful lot of tea.
Sketching outdoors and writing indoors are things I love to do, but see above. #introduction #IrishTwitter #MastoDaoine.
"Oughterard Field" Today's early #painting is from the east of #Ireland, from a hill in Kildare in fact - if that isn't almost a contradiction. I spent years on this, including more than one visit to the location. Behind you as you enjoy this view, is a church ruin, a cemetery, and a round tower stump. It's also where a certain Arthur Guinness rests. #Art

@molly0xfff Great article. I agree that upgradable proxy contracts really seem to undo a lot of what crypto supposedly promises.
One question I had after reading the coverage of this (yours and Blockworks'): it seems to jump from "it's a 4 of 12 multisig" to "the Sender wallet executed these transactions". What happened to needing 4 signatures? Is that the "vulnerability" Oasis alluded to?
I run into this a lot in crypto. People decide to use a blockchain and incur huge speed/$/scalability costs, then themselves undermine all the things the blockchain is supposed to do, ending up with a version of existing products that's just slow, expensive, and doesn't scale.
Grab your machete because we're getting into the weeds.
The "counter-hack" by Jump Crypto and Oasis just provided a remarkable demonstration of the centralization of defi. Read more: https://newsletter.mollywhite.net/p/oasis-defi-centralization
