I call insurance companies as part of my day job and the last person I called was like"Your name is Steven? Like Steven Universe?" like they'd never heard of someone with such an exotic name outside of fiction, and let me just say, I'm OK with this perception, keep it up

Looking at ICO & CNIL documentation about age assurance via facial analysis, because they've decided it's not enough to let the user self-certify "I'm 18+" and they realize kids can just use a VPN to evade sites' FR/UK-specific age-gates.

"Feed databases false information about yourself" vs. "Present your face to be scanned so you can be granted or denied access to resources": I know which one I'd rather normalize for children as they grow up in the world, but these DPAs seem not to agree.

Mathematicians have discovered a tessellating shape which can cover a surface without ever making a repeating pattern. The phenomenon’s called aperiodic tiling. It’s a bit like the geometric equivalent of an irrational number.

I feel like the upswing in ads for mushroom coffee alternatives in 2022, and The Last of Us hitting the normal consciousness in 2023, was unfortunate.

Say a fireball streaks across the sky & lands nearby. You rush over & see broken meteorite fragments. You want to pick one up, but you’re worried they might still be hot. Fun fact from meteor scientist Richard Pugh: you’re more likely to get frostbite than a heat burn. The 5 - 6 seconds it takes to pass through the atmosphere is not enough for the heat to conduct to the center of the meteor. The inside will still be the temperature of deep space — as cold as 200 degrees below freezing!

I got back to my Monotype Keyboard project and realized I completely forgot this part.

The key density CHANGES per line.
Most rows are 11-wide, except these two which go up to 14.

Man, it's a good thing I'm not an obsessive perfectionist!
