Reddit’s AMA with its CEO on their API (read: third party app killing) is a train wreck. These are remarks from their CEO. Why does Reddit consistently have such terrible leadership?

Before this, Huffman had no public interactions with the community or website for 10 months. Imagine the CEO of Facebook or twitter not posting for a year.

Reddit communities should go dark to demand this guy leaves. This is some of the most incompetent management I’ve seen.

It seems a reasonable counterpoint to any sales pitch from a tech company selling remote work or collaboration software is to simply email them the headlines about their return to office policy.

An interesting piece talking about efforts in the 90s of wealthy investors to intentionally tank the markets of small countries (the "Asian Tigers"), with the IMF then swooping in to offer structural adjustment as the countries' currencies devalued. I don't know much about it and intend to study more. The article mentions that countries engaging in that sort of behaviour would have been an act of war, but, for some reason, wealthy individuals doing it was... tolerated? Why did those other countries not treat it as an act of war from wherever those wealthy people hailed from?

China, on the other hand, protected Hong Kong's markets from collapsing and apparently caused George Soros and other wealthy capitalists to lose quite a bit of money, for which China then got labelled as a "currency manipulator." Pot, meet kettle, I guess.

Fascinating stuff. If anyone has more resources on this period of time and the various financial shenanigans that were at play, let me know.
