We lost a bunch of really great folks at #Rapid7 today — but our loss can and absolutely SHOULD be your gain. If you are hiring, hire these people. They are smart, they are dedicated, they are with very few exceptions unfailingly kind and always working to make the industry better. They don't talk shit, they get shit done. That's pretty rare in this industry.

The snide comments I've seen here and there do a disservice to a lot of supremely talented, genuinely good-hearted people in a tough spot. Please don't listen to folks who are intent on spreading negativity — help good folks who are in need, and not-so-incidentally will be great for your business! <3

Via Dave Wasserman HAS SEEN ENOUGH!

“I've seen enough: in a major victory for the pro-choice side, Ohio Issue 1 (a measure to raise the threshold to pass a state constitutional amendment to 60%) fails.”

The Great Squid People used to ride the gleaming white chalk roads in great glass globes of water pulled by teams of clattering crabs.

But then the deers took over, a Dark Age came when the roads were covered with grass.

Hate to say it, but Reddit has indeed destroyed the rebellion against its greedy, control-freakish new policies.

For my part, I canceled my account and have actively sought alternatives for the subreddits I was using (mostly for tech support).

An #economy in which the richest (influential) are oil executives, weapons dealers or venture #capitalists is an economy controlled by the corrupt.

It's flawed thinking for society not to value natural habitats (ecologically & aesthetically)

More habitat destruction for more tech is flawed thinking.

Reduce, Reuse, Repair & Recycle

Capitalism is: Wrong incentives. Wrong economic premises. Wrong to indoctrinate (e.g., advertising) young people to be "consumerists"

Will be presenting them to the Chief Minister. He said "give me books not flowers" and so here we go.

I'm not sure what irritated my son more, this meme or that I thought it was hilarious.

Or that I explained it to him and he gets it now.

When the silurian hypothesis comes up most people imagine the eponymous lizard people with big brains -- but, we are only asking: Could there have been intelligent life in some earlier age of earth, undetectable to us now in the fossil record? It need not be humanoid. It need not live on land.

Hence, I will suggest a global sea-spanning ultra-intelligent siphonophore who studied the stars, the earth and itself with biotech. One great mind, many individuals. 1/

And perhaps the siphonophores of today are just trying to grow big enough to rebuild the old network... to reboot the great mind. All they need is a critical mass of connected cells.

"Donald Trump walked into the courtroom, head held high. It had taken a long time to reach the courtroom because he had to fight his way through a sea of big, strong men who were all crying like babies because of what was being done to him. All the way through the crowd, their hands had clutched at him while they bawled enormous, manly tears, blubbering, “Sir,” through the sobs."
