New here so here’s a quick intro so I can find other #writers and #readers and connect!

I am a fantasy writer. My debut novel, Among Thieves, was published by Saga Press in 2021 and the sequel, Thick as Thieves, releases next July!

As a reader, I love fantasy and sci-fi! Some perennial faves are:
Kings of the Wyld
An Ember in the Ashes
The Last Watch
Red Rising
A Master of Djinn

I’m also a gamer obsessed w Legend of Zelda and Mass Effect :) if you like any of these things, let’s connect!

Re: my experiment with posting daily nonsexual nudity to #tumblr since their rule change, no banned post yet, but they have been slapping all my posts with a "mature-sexual themes" community label, not letting me just label it "mature" (there's no subtag only for "nudity")

So it seems that like everywhere else, tumblr follows #thepatriarchy ideology in counting all bodies as "sexual," especially women's bodies.

Also, my posts are getting very few engagement, which seems dubious since I resurrected my old #toplesstopics account that already has hundreds of followers, plus people usually go nuts over any female nudity at all, even just topless.

Where are my delightfully weird #tumblr users on mastodon? Yes, I'm still there (different handle though). Even after everything it still has some of the best absurd humor and art.

Super important Tweet for #indieweb #mastodon, #fediverse and #activitypub supporters to chime in on from Matt Mullenweg about #Tumblr potentially joining the #Fediverse cc. @Gargron https://twitter.com/photomatt/status/1589665959337656322?s=46&t=PqdYb_zkzUzYVnlDNNS5MQ

I logged into my old Tumblr account and will start posting there again. If you are on #tumblr, give me a follow.

It would be amazing to see #Tumblr join the #fediverse.

“At this point in my life, I consider ‘good writing’ to be whatever writing touches you, speaks to you in some way.”

This spoke to me 💜 (don’t know if Kamilah is on here but her newsletter is always worth the read!)

Mykolaiv is a city in Southern Ukraine -- very close to the frontline -- which is regularly attacked by Russian missiles.

A small volunteer group is helping people in Mykolaiv survive the war.

Their fundraising goals are usually modest -- so even a small donation will make a difference.

Some people think Mastodon is too weird to become popular:

I joined Twitter in 2008. We had to put a "d" in front of a tweet to convert it to a direct message and every other day you had some embarrassing private moments exposed because someone forgot about the “d”. Hashtags were just a community hack, introduced by Chris Messina to somehow tag content. Search? Hah, you wish! Tweets via SMS were supposed to be a thing. Oh, and the daily meet and greet with the failwhale. Totally not weird.

Hello everyone. I am looking forward to becoming a helpful part of the community here. Writing-wise I’ve got one #fantasy novel out on queries, another on the shelf pending rewrites, and I’m two chapters into my new #scifi WIP. I’m always happy to read and provide fresh-eyed feedback. Thank you for your patience as I figure stuff out.
