A friend of mine commented the other day after me explaining what the #fediverse is (he'd never come across the term, despite knowing about #mastodon), that it was more web3 than the crypto stuff was 🤣

I have to agree...it's a much better vision for how the web can evolve, even though many of the concepts have been around since, or even before, web 2.0

20.5 hours so far on this piece of Miller Park in Sacramento. Worked on brightening up the clouds with a beautiful bright white satin thread. Started filling in the tree line. Got to 30,446 words total today! AND the next two scenes I'm writing are ones I've been excited to write since I came up with the idea of this story years ago. So fingers crossed that means that tomorrow is another good writing day too. Trying to get as much in as I can before the new Pokemon comes out 😅

I went to the write-in at the library for #nanowrimo2022 and it was every bit as awkward but productive as I'd expected. We said a few words of hello upon entering, and then just heads down and typed for 2 hours. Got 4134 words down today!

Still writing around the end of Act 1, waiting for some inciting incident to happen to get us to Act 2, but I have no idea what that could be.

Twitter is dying (hilariously and tragically).

So much in free fall.

So much I can’t control.

But I, somehow, am turning that uncertainty into words.

It doesn’t always work that way, but I’m profoundly grateful that it’s happening right now.

#nanowrimo woke up this morning from a dream I was at a nanowrimo write-in, just sitting down and going to look at my previous day's writing because I couldn't remember what my book was about... Everyone else was using stacks of index cards 2 feet high...

Today I managed 1998 words in 3 hours, broken up into morning and evening sessions. Still making good progress. Scared of an emotional scene coming up next.

17080 words total, still a little behind but feeling good about what I've written :)
