I know some #twitter folk struggle with CWs but I like them because it immediately tells me the person posting is sensitive to their potential audience. I always click but I appreciate that I have the choice & the forewarning description makes that easier. If you don’t like CWs on your timeline you can adjust your settings to always see but I think it’s good practice for us to be aware that some ppl might be triggered or just fatigued by some of the topics #MastoDaoine

An unusual place for a portal, when I adjusted the shower head knob to Amazonian rainfall, I fell thru the oversized drain, and was spat out of a trash chute in a darkened alley. Fortunately the bin was empty. I climbed out, hugged the wall, and peered out into the street. Lackluster humanoids were queueing up for a service station. They shoved their heads into an outlet for a few moments, then re-energized, quick stepped it onto the moving sidewalk.

Does anyone know of examples where a design was rejected by the Copyright Office for lack of minimal creativity but granted a design patents by the USPTO?

#Scams #Fraud #NigerianPrince Please be careful people. We have noticed Mastodon is not immune from #Phishing profiles. In common with any site we can give you some pointers and warnings.
They have an empty profile.
Pictures look too good to be real. In fact they may be stolen from porn sites or are dashing soldiers or medical people, but do a reverse image search. (Yandex is excellent at that.)
They follow you for no reason and there is an obvious age difference.
They use odd names similar to Luvbaby123.
They do one toot that says little,
They do not participate or relate to anything in a way real people do.
This list is not definitive so use your judgement and do not share personal info. DO NOT SEND MONEY, CARDS, or BITCOIN-- EVER.
Report your suspicions to admins and mods Hopefully, action will be taken, unlike on Fakebook and other social media sites.

It's gone.

I've de-activated my main bird account, my window into #interdisciplinary knowledge, threads of thought - rabbit-holes, maybe - that have been a staple of my research for exactly 10 years (from #PhD to Lectureship).

But I know who to look for and where, now. And perhaps this is the catalyst for a healthier #SlowAcademia or #DifferentAcademia or #JudiciousAcademia or #ReflexiveAcademia.

I now need #TheOpenUniversity to transition so I can let go of my professional alias @pace-ou 🐦

Ways to help a writer:
-buy their book
-review their book
-tell them their book is good
-gift them a cursed mug
-blow up the moon while reciting your favorite passage from their book
-construct a giant papier-mâché quokka demon out of pages from their book and bring her to life

So I've been conditioned to have #ImposterSyndrome. It's so embedded in my brain now that sometimes I don't have the energy to fight it so instead I accept what it's telling me.
