We help trans and other folks escape danger. We got three intersex children out, and they're in the care of a trans relative. She's appealing for funds to help with their school costs - suddenly she's a single mom with 3 kids.

Don’t have much unusual or dramatic to offer for #slimemoldsunday i but I did very much enjoy finding this tiny shelf of orange jelly fungus the other day

#FediTips Think differently about DMs

DMs seem weird in #Mastodon at first. They appear in the timeline and sometimes look like posts if you don't check the icons! But try to think differently about them here. As an admin I assure tell you there is no UI to read DMs. No admin has time for db digging. 😂 But don't think of them like DMs. elsewhere. Instead try to use them for taking a conversation offline when it's no longer of value to other people's timelines. So not private per se but discreet.

A little out of order, but here's my #introduction.
I'm a software engineer, writing mostly PHP, JS, Python. I wrote a book on OAuth in PHP. I love studying mushrooms, going to death metal (and Harry Styles) shows, making music (noise), and crocheting (if you're nice maybe I'll make you a hat). I'm happy to be over here, looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and making some new ones!

What I absolutely love about being an academic is this feeling that we are all chefs tasting each other’s cooking. So many of you are so brilliant that I feel like I’m constantly being served Michelin Star thinking and getting to offer my thoughts on the seasoning.

I’m feeling concerned that many of us have recently joined #Mastodon and that the long term visually impaired community are now inundated with beautiful photos with no #alttext to describe the photo. Only about 1 in 5 Toots describe photos on my timeline. We all need to curb our enthusiasm to share undescribed photos and embrace our descriptive writing. I’m not on my high horse just concerned that we’ve arrived en masse and need to do our very best to embrace #MastodonCulture.

Haphazardly whipping up an #introduction because I haven’t yet. Hello! I’m Yindi (like “Indy”). I work in civic tech as a designer and it’s a solid job but my interests lie way outside including Crafts!, gardening, emergency medicine, and many other Things I Can Do With My Hands. I am a parent and will probably gush over both my husband and girlfriend. Despite that, I am not mean to monogamists nor do I think everyone should be non-monog. I am friendly so please reply to toots or DM!

#introduction Hi! I'm a boutique #python conference based in Petaluma, California. I care about helping people learn from Pythonistas who care a lot about what they do, and helping Pythonistas learn more about how they can improve the world around them.

I've been on a long hibernation for a few years, but am hoping to be able to welcome you all back real soon now.

If I had $44 billion I think I’d have attempted to feed the children, rehab public schools, secure abortion access for uterus holders, codify gay marriage, you know something worthwhile. I mean I’d probably have attempted any one of those things if I even had a single billion.

The magic, and the horror, of AI today is in recreating a context that may, nor may not, have happened in history -- but that can be made to rehappen today. Here is the AI, non-historic, record of the My Lai Massacre, 16 March 1968:
