i've been the repeated target of neo-nazis who have circulated photos of my home and children online along with my address and who have filled all my inboxes, including my voicemail, with hate. despite having all the evidence at their disposal, most of the accounts that participated in that abuse remained on twitter, and my account was ultimately removed for cursing out bigots with blue checks. i've had similar experiences with facebook. i guarantee i do a better job keeping hate off my site.

There were two notable moderation incidents on mastodon.social and mastodon.online in the past 24 hours that I would like to address. In the first, a post was wrongfully removed due to a report claiming it contained a dogwhistle, and in the second, a person was wrongfully suspended due to a report claiming it's an impersonator. Both were undone and apologies issued.

#hotoffthelathe today is a set of two nested bowls and a decorative hollow form. First time using my coring rig and all of these are from the same piece of wood. Original piece of wood was 40+ lbs & without the coring rig, the two smaller pieces would be shavings at this point.

Red cedar. Hollow form has a walnut burl inlay and the top is purple heart.

Large bowl is 10.5x6 inches. Small bowl is 8.75x4.25". The hollow form is 3x3" + 1.5" for the lid.
