I'm seeing lots of interest in spinning up Mastodon servers, and that's awesome!

Why not learn from the pros? @aurynn has written an excellent series of posts on cloudisland.nz's architecture:

I'll be posting a series of posts showing the lifecycle of different berries.

Today, I'm starting with the blackberry. I hope you enjoy it!

One thing new comers are missing (since I'm an old hand at one month ) is write an #introduction post and pin it. There's a great chance no one here knows who the hell you are, so take the chance to tell them. It's how you will make connections.

Continued scans from the Middlesex Hospital, New Jersey, USA series that I have found amongst the family photos. This is 1926. Nurses lounge. It looks like the series were a posed photoshoot of the hospital. One of the nurses in this photo is my husband's grandmother who worked as a nurse in NE Tribal India for decades.

There needs to be more cult based horror movies with Christian cults. I'm tired of seeing pagans get a bad name! Especially since Christian cults do WAY more harm in the real world. So much potential for chilling and cathartic horror!

I'm getting lots of new followers, so I'll do a quick intro: I'm a journalist who covers conspiracy theories and fringe beliefs, particularly QAnon. I've written two books, with a third coming in late fall 2023; testified to Congress on election disinfo; wrote testimony for the J6 committee; have done hundreds of interviews in print, TV and podcasts; and am currently working as an expert witness on multiple major lawsuit related to Q and the 2020 election. And I like sushi.

almost made enough latkes (if only one person wants to eat)

A gentle reminder to people who ask to follow me here: please have at least SOME information in your profile. If you have zero or next-to-zero information in your profile (no user icon, no banner image, zero profile info, no posts, no comments), I will more than likely deny your request to follow me.

You wanna be anonymous? Fine, but be CREATIVELY anonymous! Make a picture of your dog your user icon, post your favourite poetry in your profile, etc.

You do have to make at LEAST some effort! 😉

Good morning and Happy Sunday to everyone here in Mastodon! My name is Majid Padellan, but most folks know me as Brooklyn Dad Defiant from the bird site.

This is my #introduction: I like democracy, voting rights, equal rights, education, the environment. Also like old (and new) TV shows, love movies, comedy, big comic book nerd, pizza and Buffalo wings will be my last meal.

Also like not being swarmed by thousands of nasty trump bots, so this space feels nice. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Thank you to @anneursu for gifting the Little Free Library her novels the Lost Girl and the Troubled Girls of Dragomir Academy . You can now find these Middle Grade novels in the Little Free Library.

With the way Elon is doing PR for it, I'm beginning to believe the Saudis own Mastodon.

#Introduction Hey, we're that tiny, indie alternative to Am*zon for ebook subscriptions you've heard tell of. We're #DRMFree. We can deliver direct to your ereader if you’re willing to jump a few corporate-imposed hoops, we pay publishers almost as well as that bohoemoth. Basically all our profit goes to support a nonprofit journal of creative writing on environmental justice. Unfortunately we can’t do business in the EU or UK due to VAT. If you're anywhere else, we're very pleased to serve you
