Today’s short offering is called ‘Common Peephole’.

Some good fossil finds from a short creek walk the other day. The fossils in the first picture - the larger cephalopod, the tiny screw-shaped crinoid, and the medium-sized brachiopod - are from the Ordovician era, approximately 480 million years old. The other photo is potentially trace fossils, though they were easily wiped away so maybe not? I thought it was pretty nonetheless.

I love that this is my backyard.

Every so often, patience is rewarded. For 30 minutes I watched this tricolored heron fishing in a canal. He would be very still, tense up, then take wing & pounce on the fish. He then ventured down by a reflection of a yellow blossomed tree and I captured him in a ‘dance’ above the water.

I am best described as a stereotypical nerd, complete with glasses. I'm studying Computer Science at a university, and I'm into GNU/Linux, retro games, and electronic music.
