You solve one issue, and introduced another one.

Interlacing is a good way to ease printhead overheating. When printing 10101 in a row, you might got 5 black dot (11111) because the overheating.

By printing the same picture multiple times, each time printing part of it, overheating can be greatly controlled.

However, there is no way to control the movement of the paper. The mechanic part is, hmmm, not designed for this usage.

I submitted a proposal to include the Neurodivergent and Autistic symbols in the default set of software. You can read it here:

“Building a More Inclusive Future: Adding Neurodivergent and Autistic Symbols to Fediverse Default Emojis”

codeberg.org/fediverse/fediver

It was also added in as “Accessibility and Diversity best-practices” by Arnold Schrijver (@-smallcircles@social.coop ). It is available here: github.com/gabek/fedidocs/issu

Please reshare/boost/retoot, and hopefully we can all work together to achieve this goal.

Have a great day everyone!

"In this study, we investigated the mechanism that one specific species of microbiota shortens lifespan and disrupts gut homeostasis of the aged flies, using a “fermented” fly diet. We found that the specific effects of this bacterium on fly healthspan were due to its capability of stimulating a specific receptor in the gut that recognizes peptidoglycan, a component of bacterial cell wall. Paradoxically, the same bacterium also increases stress resistance and defence against oral infection of a pathogen."

Capt Louis is shocked. Shocked!

"The mogul’s treatment of union organizers and whistleblowers suggested that “free-speech absolutism” was mostly code for a high tolerance for bigotry toward particular groups, a smoke screen that obscured an obvious hostility toward any speech that threatened his ability to make money."

'In the early pages of Good Girls, Hadley Freeman lists the 75 theories that doctors, therapists and outsiders developed for why she suffered anorexia as a teenager. First on the list: her birth by caesarean, which a psychiatrist claimed meant she would “always try to look for the easy way out”.

More zombie tv shows and games need bicycles. It's always about finding a car with enough gas, but bikes are plentiful, simple, repairable, and can still out run zombies.

Every survivor camp should have bicycles, and parts.

Just seems like a weird ommision.

I need your help…

NPR is leaving Twitter but they are planning to focus on Instagram

We need to tell them to join the Fediverse

Many of their journalists’ accounts, as well as their main account, haven’t been active on mastodon. Tell them how much we need them here. (In fact, they should have their own instance)

Use the link, tell NPR we are waiting for them here and spread the word far and wide:

Is this the cutest fungus ever!? 😲🍄💙

This mini mushroom was found in Taiwan and is believed to be Mycena subcyanocephala, often called the blue-headed bonnet. The species is characterized by its teeny tiny height of around 1-3 cm, and its blue to blue-gray cap (typically only 0.5–1.5 cm in diameter).

M. subcyanocephala thrives in temperate climates and usually colonizes decaying wood or leaf litter.

When I was about ten, I noticed an infrared light in our VCR and became convinced that it was a hidden camera that my parents were using to spy on me.

I wasn’t a bad kid so I wasn’t worried, but I convinced myself that if I sang and danced for the camera, my parents would FINALLY see my talent and help me get on Star Search.

For the next month, I did super weird performances in front of that VCR until I finally acknowledged that they hadn’t provided any feedback on my skillz, at which point I concluded that the only logical conclusion was that the camera wasn’t working, so I…

DISMANTLED THE VCR to examine the camera.

Once everything was opened up and pulled apart, I realized I had no idea what I was looking at so I just screwed everything back together with a bunch of loose, rattling parts inside.

About a week later, I remember watching my dad trying to play a Beverly Hills Cop VHS tape to no avail and silently thinking “this is YOUR fault for not seeing my full POTENTIAL, daaaaad!”

My neighbor and I
stood there watching
as a car across the street
was consumed by flames
and as we watched
he said “this feels like
a metaphor for something”
but then he went back inside
while the fire still blazed
and I thought “now this feels like
a metaphor for something.”

Have spent the last couple of weeks working on a NeedleFelted sculpture. This is my vision of the #TreeBeard character from The Lord of the Rings. He was a big challenge, and I learned a lot with this project.
