The philosopher Karl Popper published what came to be known as the Paradox of Tolerance in his book "The Open Society and Its Enemies" in 1945.
It dealt with the question of how a society that promotes tolerance is to deal with those who are intolerant.
Okay I am apparently binging Chad Chad now

because she has a good sense of comedic timing, and talks about internet stuff that I sort of gravitate to.
How problematic is she going to turn out to be? :P #youtube #chadchad
The road was dry for a couple of days but now it's back to the way #IdąPsięta like it the most.
Damnit! These signs keep ruining my weekend plans!

I am going to point out now that I've been running my own mailserver for 15+ years
And I can't send mail to people with Apple or Google accounts. Why? Well, I'm not a known corporate entity. They whitelist email to known large businesses, an unrecognized IP gets blocked directly.
So y'know, yeah. Globally recognized protocol, got all the SPF/DKIM/DMARC/etc, but when it comes down to it, once big business gets a majority of an open protocol? They will devour it
Implicit assumption that "working class" = "male manual worker" is a problem for the left, worse if you add "middle-aged". Playing out in reactions to #MeToo.

“We must urgently move from an old model of drab, dirty and dangerous streets built for cars, to safe, green and vibrant spaces designed and built for people. Mobility underpins so many other aspects of public health and development. By making walking and cycling safe, we can reduce air pollution and fight climate change" https://planet.outlookindia.com/news/walking-and-safe-cycling-can-reduce-air-pollution-and-fight-climate-change-who-news-415564 #Cycling #ClimateCrisis
Microsoft wants to stream your OS to you. Ignoring the whole "Microsoft" angle on this, I personally hate this idea. I miss the days when a computer was a standalone device that COULD connect to the Internet, but didn't have to. These days, so many things DEPEND on having that connection, and just flat out won't work without it. Maybe I'm a stodgy old guy, but can't we go back? I want my computer to with exactly the same online or offline.

@RollingStone For this image, we tapped BRIA AI -- a visual generative AI outfit that actually respects copyright and rewards its creators -- and the amazing illustrator Tomer Hanuka. The result IMHO shows the promise of how people can employ these tools to make great art.

I quit twitter after Elon made some anti-trans tweet (and it wasn't his last). From everything I've seen, Twitter has only become more of a cesspool under that same leadership. But Tim Apple continued to invest something like $100 million (maybe 2-3x more?) in Twitter ads, and now the company is releasing full episodes of shows there? For a company that presents itself as inclusive, that certainly isn't reflected in the way they spend their money.
