Happy new year! Another year means another year-long keogram! Every 15 seconds throughout 2022, my trusty all-sky camera took a picture of the sky above the Netherlands. Combining these 2.1 million images into a year-long keogram reveals this picture, which shows the length of the night change throughout the year (the hourglass shape), when the Moon was visible at night (diagonal bands), and the Sun higher in the sky during summer, as well as lots and lots of clouds passing overhead.

Someday, I will in fact do this.

Some beautiful golden light bathing snow-covered veteran beech trees in a wintry Epping Forest.

Some days you have an image in mind that you work on for an hour before moving on disappointed. Only then to be presented with an opportunity to make an image of a tree I had tried to photograph unsuccessfully for about a year.

Persistence usually pays off - either through creative reward, or the greater prize of creative growth.

I pet Lyla. She has had a hard life. She is diabetic and wasn’t diagnosed right away. She had very long seizures. Her caregiver was able to help her get the right meds and food to help her.

Just as she was doing better, she was attacked by a dog at the dog park. She suffered a spinal cord injury and couldn’t walk for 3 months. After a lot of love and care, she is running, playing and doing well. Her caregiver now hopes she can help more dogs.

And I ask you sir, Have you ever met a cat?

From one extreme to another! After having hiked through the snow and ice in the White Mountains, NH, over the weekend, I just now took a nice #sunset walk along the #ocean shoreline of #CapeCod. Paddington At Paddington

A fun older photo of mine featuring my daughter's Paddington bear waiting for a train at Paddington. For this picture I used blu tack & a pen to keep the bear & oyster card upright. It did however fall over many times.

The resulting image turned out better than expected.

This lighthouse is SO UNIQUE! It's called Þrídrangar, which means "three rock pillars". It is located 4.5 miles (7.2 kilometres) off the southwest coast of Iceland, in the archipelago of Vestmannaeyjar, often described as the most isolated lighthouse in the world. The lighthouse was built there in 1939.

It's such a INCREDIBLE location for a lighthouse, perched on a rock in Iceland's wild surf. Originally constructed and accessible only by scaling the rock on which it is situated, it is now accessible by helicopter since the construction of a helipad.
