This surreal setting is part of the garden at Charleston Farmhouse, the home or weekend and holiday retreat of the Bloomsbury Group.
The levitating woman sculpture was added by Quentin Bell, son of the painter Vanessa Bell, in 1973.
The garden, like the house, was not intended to be tasteful or restrained, and it has been organic since the 80s.

Someone shared this in a meeting and it was the first time I'd seen it. Sharing on here for laughs

Incredible. A female falcon was equipped with a satellite tracking system in South Africa before migrating to Finland. Image shows tracker data. In just 42 days she flew over 10.000km at an incredible average of 230 km per day and almost in a straight line.

I've tried it on twitter a while ago (was planning a book club with a few friends) and did not get much useful responses, so - can you do better, fediverse?

Recommend me non-fiction books that are:

* not originally written in English
* available in English translation
* not written by men

I'm leaving the topic very open on purpose as I'd love to expand in both voices and topics I read.

Boosts welcome.

Many folks, including me, had a lot of questions after the news of Silicon Valley Bank’s implosion landed. In my piece today, I explain as best I can, given that I’m not an economist or banker, what happened, what it means, and what’s next. Hope it’s helpful! statuskuo.substack.com/p/what-

Also I ended up matching my sweater to the flowers in the @CMSexperiment control room 😄

Kona wanted to celebrate @AmyJSchneider's CHICAGO GUIDE TO COPYEDITING FICTION with me! She thought it was hers and gave it a few licks of enthusiasm.

I'm thrilled about this book. As a fiction editor, I follow Chicago style, but it's so nice to have an official guide specific to fiction editing! Plus, I'm stoked that (a) I'm included in the acknowledgments, (b), I'm listed as a conscious language resource, and (c) I'll be getting the book signed at ACES next week! Congratulations, Amy! ♥️

I'm non-binary which means I have to compile my gender from source

Arms and legs done! :D All that's left now is the mane and tail, and it'll be finished. :da_la:

@feather1952 @LifeTimeCooking @Wolfie_Rankin Interesting - I have this one, the first cookbook I ever asked for, in 1974. I would never part with mine, either, the recipes are great!
