In my new book, THE THREE AGES OF WATER, I document the consequences of climate change for water resources. Some additional early history, not in the book, might be of interest. In 1979, the US Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs held a...symposium "Carbon Dioxide Accumulation in the Atmosphere..."
Among the conclusions of some of the witnesses?

Again, this was 1979.
The failure of our politicians to act on what we know and what they were told, decades ago, is directly responsible for the environmental catastrophes now unfolding around the world.

Geplante Wärmewende: Jetzt sind die Kommunen dran

Für die angestrebte Wärmewende sollen Städte und Gemeinden zunächst Bedarfe und Infrastruktur anmelden, fordert das Bauministerium in seinem überarbeiteten Gesetzentwurf. Die Kommunen dürfte das Zeit kosten - und Geld. Von H.-J. Vieweger.

*SPOILERS* I just saw Oppenheimer, and I am appalled by the number of historical inaccuracies in it:

1. Oppenheimer only spoke in the third person. In the movie he says "I'm hankering for a ham sandwich, when he should have said "Oppenheimer is hankering for a ham sandwich".

2. Oppenheimer had a severe phobia of chairs. Yet the film confusingly shows Oppenheimer sitting in numerous chairs without screeching or sobbing.

3. Oppenheimer was married to John Wayne, but no mention of this is made.
