I hate it when developers build something and people reply with, "why are you building this, we already have other software that does this".
That's like asking an artist why they're painting a sunset when there are 1000's of works with sunsets.
Let developers take joy in their work without caring if someone has already done it.

How can soundscapes be used as a way to attend to forest life and the many different ways that we narrate and relate to forests?
The forestscapes project aims to explore and document generative arts-based methods for recomposing collections of sound materials to support “collective inquiry” into forests as living cultural landscapes.
As part of the project we have an open call for folders of forest sounds.

The track pad is not the feel I’m familiar with. Love the keyboard, but being a newcomer I don’t know my shortcut feels yet.
I’m happy with my new #pinebookpro ! There is so much to learn but my friend helped me a ton. I loaded and opened #bespokesynth but I don’t know anything about it, just excited that there might be a path to personal creation through others’ honest work.
#pinebookpro arrived! Merry Christmas to me. Now I need to figure out what I bought.
@tonic I dig it. Sounds like a #DAW -first strategy. I can do that. I’ll start playing with Ableton. I’m also looking at #linux -based tools, another opportunity for me to be frustrated with something I don’t know anything about! Purchased a #pinebook pro as a transition/backup to my aging MacBook…. One step at a time! Anyway, thanks again, I’ll be sure to ping you whenever I make some progress and have something fun to share!!
@tonic That’s awesome!! Thank you!! I think I’m still three steps behind - need to do some googling on most of what you suggested. I am excited to start playing regularly again, just don’t know what thread to start pulling on to know how these tools work, processes and functions. It’s like being a pen-and-paper cartoonist and wanting create digital animations; the music is still there there, just totally ignorant of the tech and best practices.
WANTED: MUSICIANS! It's great here (I just tested Post. ugh!). But I need more people on my #musician and #musicProduction list – people in all genres, people and/or companies posting about #instruments #musicStudio #electronicMusic #acousticMusic #classicalMusic #mixing #synth #musicTools and #composing #composer progress.
I find great inspiration in watching other people's work and process.
So please tell me – where do I find YOU? Oh, I know, #cats are popular on Mastodon!
As food supply and #nutrition strategies have changed for #humans, are we still getting all the trace #minerals we need? Sure we got iodine #salt and magnetic corn flakes, but I feel like a little #lithium might go a long way for me. Maybe I need one of those mineral feed trough #buffets they give #livestock. Perfect application for my disused #dabba !!
2005 was the last time I played with a #synth or digital production tools. I was an uncommitted teen, but it was a fun diversion from #music theory and #jazz band. It was not a protected interest, and in college I buried it under fear and greed. I want to fix that. With search engines designed for others’ gain, I don’t know what to trust. Assuming I know nothing, can anyone recommend educational resources for musicians that introduce the basics of modern #synthesizer or #DAW technologies?
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 8.
#ModularSynth patch
I confess, I cheated today. Without a mixer in the patch, all the high frequencies were in my left ear and the bass in my right. When I finished patching last night I lost my balance and nearly fell over. So today I treated my wellbeing to a mixer and used a couple of extra cables to do that.
That being said, I patched in the E352 Cloud Terrarium Oscillator, in cloud and morph mode to add a airy drone to the patch.
