👩💻 I'm a software developer based in Montréal (Canada), interested in all STEAM fields - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics. I share my time between engineering software development, my young family and music/arts. I'm especially interested in ideas and projects that link maths, code and arts.

@Ibleedblue I just went on a camping trip with my son(it was his first trip) and I asked him if he liked it and he just said “This is even better than I thought”. It was around 40 F at night so I wasn’t sure how it would turn out! Next step is to also bring my 3 yo along.
@feld Thank you for the information. I would not have expected it to work that way and that distinction seems pretty important.
I am a white cis male so I have spent a lot of my life not needing to fear but I could see that being a problem for women, LGBT+ and other minority groups.
@Ibleedblue Beautiful rig. I’m not at the point in my life where I can afford to RV but I would like to try it some day. Happy camping if you haven’t put it away for the season!

@Rel I haven’t done much with it but I really like Ghost(https://ghost.org/). It is pretty to set up, but there are also paid hosting options.

@Madahin Thanks. That is a good tip. I can’t tell you how many times I have dove headfirst into the deep-end only to completely abandon it when I am busy.
Currently I am slowly making a text based game using a mud framework written in Python. I am working on the first floor of a small dungeon just to try to get something out the door.
The 16 bit remakes of the original mario games have a lot better audio than the original versions. Not quite worthy of being on Tidal but it’s neat to hear the difference.

Hi all!
I am Akanksha, currently working as a research tech at HHMI Janelia Research Campus, engineering bioluminescent proteins for functional imaging.
My research interests lie at the interface of chemistry, biology, and engineering 🔬. 'A tool developer' describes me best - in the dry lab, I was working on a systems biology project involving detecting hard-to-find nucleotide changes with certain effects from human transcriptome datasets. Transitioning to a wet lab, I have been engineering proteins for various applications.
Being an avid learner, I spend a lot of time reading articles from across various sub-disciplines in bioscience and biotech. I'm happiest when brainstorming ideas in molecular/synthetic biology or new tools that don't exist with a near-perfect cup of coffee☕ ! Always happy to connect over a crazy idea!

After work I like playing the piano, cooking and coaching at CoderDojo.

@Cleoqc I hope you feel better soon! I have only tried raspberry pi so I will have to look at the Rock 4. Just glancing at the specs it seems similar but maybe with a slightly powerful processor?
