Trans people in sports

@ada I think it is great to have this study but also the call for more studies to put this to rest. The more research out there the harder it will be for people attempting to seem legitimate to discriminate against trans athletes!

Trans people in sports

There is no evidence of trans women having systemic advantage in elite sports! Who could have known that most of the exclusionary messaging around this topic was driven by bias and transphobia? :blobcatsurprised:

To all the lovely humans starting Mastodon instances:

Please think about succession planning, resourcing, and rules of engagement (aka Code of Conduct) as a matter of priority for your instance.

It'd be really sad if in 3, 6, 12 months we start losing a ton of instances and Fediverse community members with them.

Just going to put this out here to this wonderful community. I’m looking for a more financially stable position. I’m an early career developer getting my BS in Computer Science looking to get my “foot in the door”.

Help would be greatly appreciated. CV is on my website.

Anyone out there have a solution or workaround for this?

github.com/python/mypy/issues/

Right now I'm doing:

```
# wrapper type is Callable[[Iterable[T]], Iterable[T]]
k: KeyType
v: ValueType
for k, v in wrapper(my_dict.items()): # type: ignore
...
```

Which is fine for a temporary workaround, but it'd be better to have a proper workaround for the time being.

An illustrated walkthrough of four classic Unix window managers tested under SunOS on a SPARC workstation:

- MGR
- SunView
- OpenWindows
- X11R6

What I find fascinating of the post is it provides the historical, technical, and industrial context of these window managers.

@bnys ok, I think I clear the bar. :) No soldering is a plus. I have only done one project involving soldering so that would have been a big leap in difficulty.

Thanks!

@bnys I am getting interested in the mnt reform from the posts I see on Mastodon. Is the unassembled kit doable for someone who has never built a pc or laptop before?

If I bought the wifi card do I also need to buy the antenna? Is the antenna easy to set up? That part looks delicate.

Thank you and sorry to barrage you with questions!

Hello and welcome, @rebeccatickell! As an ex-twitter user I hope you find this instance and the Fediverse fun and filled with cool people!

Looking to connect with folks with an interest in and more ... new to Mastodon so follows and boosts welcome!

This will save me some points on my Calc assignment. I was unsure if I could have a normal line if I couldn’t have a defined slope but I guess that’s just what a vertical line is?

And like the perfect stack exchange answer it is perfectly seasoned with a bitter, salty reply 😂

@JensHannemann That’s a good point in that if I can develop this skill it would be great job security!

@LouisIngenthron I can’t vouch for them but I guess someone will enjoy the lego set either way. I guess there will probably be a slow trickle of people taking tags they figure. That or halloween ending is the start of the holiday season mow!

@LouisIngenthron I take it you aren't listening to Christmas music while you work just yet? 😆

I thought it was a little early, but a shop on our main street had an angel tree up so I picked someone’s tag. Technically I am dropping of my first gift of the “Christmas season” today lol.
