Hello Mastodon,

I'm a software engineer who has lived in Dallas, Texas, USA my entire life until last year my wife, daughter, and I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark.

In my free time (when I have it) I play video games, board games, research flat earth conspiracy theories, watch other people play video games, learn Danish, and take on side projects usually involving data visualization. I also might talk your ear off about how cool the submarine fiber optic cables are.

My real name is Kevin. Welcome to Mastodon. Keep your arms and legs in the vehicle at all times and enjoy the ride.

on a podcast about mastodon lmao, someone has never explored the fediverse very deep

Hey all, I encourage you to donate to @dansup who is building Pixelfed.

Pixelfed completely replaces Instagram, and has some *big* improvements:

1. Unlike Instagram, you can upload photos through a web browser
2. Unlike Instagram, you can look at all photos and videos without being nagged to log in
3. Unlike Instagram, you can receive updates from Mastodon, Pleroma, and Misskey

I love Pixelfed so much, I've been running an instance (peerverse.space) for 7 months!

i've always wondered whether you can procedually generate a game storyline, like

you write a whole bunch of plot snippets and character traits, and then you just combine it to make up a story

Mastodon has been sucking away all my time, it's worse than reddit!

(which is great, means there's a ton of interesting people here)

Found out how to generate linker map files in IAR for Eclipse and had a date night with my wife. Great way to end the week!

👋 #introduction @ ruby.social

I'm Lewis - I live in the middle of the USA (Missouri) because I enjoy being close to family. However I often feel like a software guy among farmers and hunters with very little relatable conversation locally.

I really enjoy working in #ruby, although as a consultant I practice many programming languages and find different joys in each of them.

I've found some community through the bird, but hoping to enhance that through Mastadon.

I jusst realised that I never actually made an #introduction since I joined the fediverse.
My name is Ádám (I'm fine with Adam too).
I like playing with #technology, especially if it's #opensource.
I like #programming, and mostly use #java, #javascript and #python.
I also care about #privacy and #security.
I'm into #gaming, but I don't play many games. Mostly #minecraft.

@derickflorian LOL. I'm glad you guys beat the bucs too. Anytime Tom Brady loses, the world wins.

Working on a breakout for a little LTE modem right now. Hoping to make something extremely low-cost for development using one of these cheap NB-IoT chips coming out of Quectel lately. It's my first proper project using and I'm loving it so far!

Is there a #python tool to automatically take a Python codebase and make it compatible with 3.11 *without dropping older versions*? (Hence: pyupgrade doesn't work for me IIUC)

In particular, I'm dealing with a project that uses `inspect.getargspec`, deprecated since Python 3.0 and finally removed in Python 3.11.

Spotted Peccary Music is the home of excellent Ambient, Electronic, and Spacemusic.
They have introduced a 24/7 Live feed of their music on YouTube and Twitch.

Shall certainly be using this stream as background music in my work office.

::: Raspberry Pi on 4K displays? Linux 6.2 will serve!

Linux 6.2 kernel will put the highly popular single-board computer Raspberry Pi to go for 4K @ 60Hz.

Not only fixing 4K @ 60Hz detection, there's a rework for 4K detection code in general with better core clock calculation +other increased checks around 4K resolutions.

#newhere

Hey everybody! I work as an Android developer, but spend my free time with Linux-y, Python-y projects.

GPL > MIT

Not interested in toots which contain retweets from #birdsite: click on the Preferences icon, then Filters - Add new filter, keyword or phrase: RT, select at least "Home and lists" in Filter contests, and then also select "Whole world"

Time to refresh my #introduction!

I'm Rémi (he/him), French developer living in #Copenhagen.

I'm the project manager and maintainer for #GodotEngine, an increasingly popular free and #opensource 2D and 3D game engine. (I'll try to make @godotengine more lively here too.)

My other tech interests are #FOSS as a whole, #Linux, #gamedev, #indiedev and #gaming in general.

I'm sometimes political, mostly aware of social inequalities, democracy, environment (so yes, leftist).

Seeing lots of #newhere #introduction posts and realized I didn't post one yet.

I'm a (hopeful) career changer to software development and I've recently taken an interest in #Python.

I'm in #Ottawa 🇨🇦, love #bluejays baseball, #notredame football. I'm a lapsed #Oiler fan and have a garage and basement full of #woodworking tools I'd love to start using again.
