#introduction

Hi everyone! I’m Natalia, a software engineer in Christchurch, New Zealand. I enjoy working with #SwiftLang and #SwiftUI, and even had a chance to contribute to the framework as a member of the core SwiftUI team at Apple.

I like to share my #iOSDev learnings on https://nilcoalescing.com/blog and recently wrote a book on integrating SwiftUI into UIKit apps: https://books.nilcoalescing.com/integrating-swiftui

I also like nature, walking, cycling, and I have a cute dog Phoebe you might occasionally see pictures of.

Anyone know why when I search my PixelFed account it acts like I have to approve follow requests? It also shows no posts.

On my PixelFed account I have one post and I don’t have a setting to approve followers first.

I thought a #GanttChart would help me to manage my #ADHD but the pressure of seeing my deadlines move further and further out as I fail to stick to plans paralyzes me instead.

Having my entire life charted out is the kind of existential pressure I cannot handle. Has anyone else with ADHD had success with Gantt charts? How do you use them?

What has helped me is a #toDo manager. There are many such apps out there. Go through them until you find the perfect one for you. I ultimately landed on Tusk—it has all the functionality I need and is monetized thru a sale rather than subscription model. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ulsoft.tusk

A to-do list is not going to cure your ADHD but it does help, especially if it's always with you on your phone and automatically notifies you about your responsibilities. That takes much of the organizational burden off of you and helps you to focus on simply completing tasks instead.

#NewbieAdvice #NewTooters #GettingStarted:

1) #hashtags help you discover interesting communities, and help you get discovered by people
2) Don't start following people unless you at the very least have a profile image (doesn't have to be a picture of you) and a short bio (even just one sentence!), so they're more likely to follow you
3) If you want people to interact with you, try starting a fun poll. They usually get a decent bit of traction. Use lots of hashtags so your poll gets discovered.

The US set fire to Hawaiian & Asian homes & businesses after invading, & forced us into the blaze at gunpoint. Like racist 'Wuhan Flu', Asians were blamed for plague & burned, but sick Whites were treated in posh hotels. My #AAPI parents struggled in slums built on these ashes.

A thread on my game Neofeud about my life as an impoverished Hawaiian, social worker and STEM teacher for other poor/homeless, living in slums beneath billionaire mansions. My experiences refracted through the lens of satirical cyberpunk.

Point: the machines will take over

Counterpoint: the algorithm thinks that I would like to buy a denim cape
