@Saederup92 @freemo Imagine governing a country that large.

Siberian Railroad even crosses it east to West, a major undertaking to buid it.

@Saederup92 @freemo Yes, it's a large continent.

We have 3.5 time zones here in Canada. Many more in EU I imagine. Russia then, they have 11 or 12 of them, mind boggling size, their country.

@Saederup92 @freemo Good afternoon, soon to be good evening in EU time. 😄

Woke hours earlier but had a serious backup on my penpals correspondence, so concentrated on clearing some of it. Better now. 😜

@shibaprasad You are very welcome. 😺

write.freely Writer's Guide - formatting explained

@shibaprasad Yes, there are some, not as many as there are mastodon ones.

And what they offer does vary. I had seelected Wordsmith.social at first, since they are open for new accounts, have a number of users and are likely to stick around (very small ones, who knows?). And -- they also allow 10 Blogs per user account.

so you could separate things into different blogs, 2 or 3 as needed.

Avoids a confusing mix of family, travel, fediverse, photos, etc all in one stream.

I wanted it, but could not see if to follow via Fediverse.

so I kept looking, and found Tedomum.net, which DID work when tested (I used eh same test, short first blog page. Copied between tabs, from one that has page, to an empty new one. Hit save, see how it looks.)

Rigth now they both seem to be working.

And -- one of the new things today was MarkDown language. I found a tutorial, read and tried it as it's interactive.

Then, practice and ended up with a Better version of a complex post, with numbered lists, bullets, I couldn't get it perfect before.

Now it is 🆗 -- and I am happy.

I posted a message on the MarkDown tutorial thread with links to the before and after.

MarkDown Interactive Tutorial - in English too!

And I just worked for a couple hours, soon time for bed.

Completed this tutorial, linked above, and it is VERY good. Well explained, with examples, you enter markdown format until you get it right and it allows you to go on to the next step. (or hit cancel, if you can't figure out why it's not as expected).

After reading and practicing, I needed to work on a real project, and I knew one of my recent Blog posts could use some work -- some of the text was jagged, not right, I had used html markup and was the best I could do at the time.

With some back and forth, I copied the whole post from one blog instance to another, as a Backup so I wouldn't break it (and regret).

Turned out NICE. Finally, the jaggedness is gone. The numbered list is progressing as expected.

AND - the formatting for the lists and headers is much shorter and easier than HTML ones.

Will post here the two, Before and After. so you can see the difference.

* BEFORE : wordsmith.social/rgx/qoto-mode

* AFTER : write.tedomum.net/rgx/qoto-mod

Happy and ready to wind down a productive day. Good night, verse.

MarkDown Interactive Tutorial - in English too!

🇬🇧 MarkDown language is a simplified form of creating a variety of text styles. Bold, Italicized, Underline, Header (text) sizes, all in much shorter and easier commands than classic HTML Markup language.

Note the name, a play on the HTML variant.

The Interactive MarkDown tutorial is also available in ENGLISH for those who are more comfortable in that language.
