*banned 4 MarkDown love* @design_RG@social.cleverlibre.org

Today I discovered and joined a new instance. Amazing how we cross paths and discover things at random points. Serendipity, is a Thing.

This instance is called Expired Mentality, RIP.

Source of the name? I will quote :

" yep, thanks to hysterical Gab dev for this name. https://youtu.be/TveK9Sfwtvo?t=96 "

LOL.... 😜

@nHFvi0rBSRGHPJI8ahIo@skippers-bin.com Hello!

Please do stay. It's a great place, just give it time, read some guides, explore around a bit. So much to see, do and learn.

@SecondJon George Orwell had a vision, and it ain't pretty. We are living it now it seems. [shades of 1984, the novel]

@hj
Most certainly! It's interesting that you have this dual team approach. Interesting, keeping people focused on what they know best. 👍

Thank you PleromaBE development team, I am impressed.

@a1batross @shpuld

@smonky Yes, that is an amazing thing, I do that many times for that very reason. Thanks Smonky!

@bukbak And it seems we have reached the end of discussions on this issue.

We had some correspondence, back and forth, the first of which is the letter I included in full at my Blog post mentioned in the OP above.

Received a courteous reply from Mr. Furrow, followed up today with another letter explaining some internal discussions.

Received just now a reply from him, stating we are at an impasse and requesting that I do not contact him again.

Seems I will have to delete one of my accounts, a first for me. Surprisingly, but fair.

I might, or might not, create a second blog post about this, but have nicer, more positive things to think of and act upon, so maybe just let it be.

Adieu, mastodon.technology.

@smonky Thank you, loved that image, saved it.

@hj @a1batross @shpuld Thank you, HJ!

I joined my first Pleroma node today and I am loving the richness of it. Things I could only dream of, already implemented.

Your team deserves thank yous and respect - excellent work! I write a blog about various things, mostly Fediverse experiences atm, and will prepare a post highlighting the many nice features, controls and options you have in Pleroma.

Never thought it was so rich inside. Wow. 👍

@smonky That image is so pretty. Where is this from?

@a1batross Worth mentioning that GlitchSoc instances ( cutting edge branch of Mastodon development, various cool instances running it right now) , GS instances already support MarkDown formatting in text.

Which looks very pretty in the GS instances, and does NOT mess up or break normal Mastodon nodes. The same message shows as a plain Jane, no makeup, girl next door on a Monday morning version. lol...

Example below? GlitchSoc posted, with MarkDown rich text, and viewed in Pinafore client.

@lnxist
Awesome! I love the #Fediverse, have been spending lots of time, there's so much to see, try, learn, enjoy.

@Sphinx

@Sphinx @lnxist Yes, welcome indeed, Inxist.

I have some user guides in case you need them, or want to understand the network better.

If you are new to using Mastodon, there's a good guide here: https://lifehacker.com/a-beginner-s-guide-to-mastodon-1828503235

We also have another new users guide, posted here : https://write.tedomum.net/rgx/suggestions-and-guidelines-for-new-users-written-by-mastodon-art-administrator

Casey Rollins made a video to explain the Fediverse, here :

"I made this video awhile back to help explain how the #Fediverse works."

Any question, just ask, and someone will try and help out.

** Things to Keep an Eye out For **

A client for mobile devices that support the Enhanced Text format that Pleroma users enjoy in their instances.

We here in mastodon world, can always wish for, but they have it, NOW.

Mobile clients still not supporting these extensions, but I was just chatting with an admin of a Pleroma node who is building a fork of Tusky -- which will offer that and more.

Not released yet, he's waiting for Tusky release v.10, since his code is based on development versions of Tusky itself.

Thanks @a1batross !! Look forward to seeing it!

@gawrsh Thank you for the post and welcome to Qoto, IXE.

I found the decoded URL for the link above -- it's always a risk to click on a cloaked shortened URL, specially from unknown sources.

@iankenway Thank you for bringing these informative posts here, Ian. 👍

@Sphinx
Good point -- I am looking at the site now and ALL system logos are missing. Problem at their end, likely.

@freemo

@yaco And welcome to Qoto, a user of discerning good taste. Cat Approves of You. 👍

@yaco Yes, most certainly. Have a few of them here, used them for years. Lovely machines.

Please note the Source -- The Atlantic is a wonderful magazine. Thank you Bernie, time to bring US into the modern day and age.
