@snow AWI? it is available here, yes, it comes with the default Mastodon setup. I use it all the time as shown in the screenshot, the second one.

@snow You can see a couple (just the AWI and then awi plus Collapsed Mastodon add-on) screenshots here :

Rare photo of mother wrench feeding her hatchlings in the wild. Breathtaking

@k11m1

A Tech interested person, programmer, geek, etc, is under the "T" part of STEM and belongs here no problem. 😃

@freemo @snow @arteteco

@olivervinic hello, your first test worked well - -Mastodon adds a preview image of the video after it's posted. iFrames are not supported here though. Welcome to Qoto...

@k11m1 Ah, sounds good, from the search results the most promissing seemed to be Diary -- f-droid.org/en/packages/org.bi

from the screenshots, I am guessing it does support markdown language, which would be a nice thing.

I remember looking for and finding some nice Notetaking apps to use in my laptop, one of which did support and display markdown natively; it could be a nice place for my drafts, as I do a lot of text format manually in the blog posts, markdown makes it so easy. Can't remember the name atm.

@k11m1 I use write.as, it's nice and simple and little distractions. Actually, it could even work well for your journal -- you have the option of keeping it private, a new page is created with the day's date, and can be edited later if needed.

So it's a possibility. As a blog platform, I find it quite nice.

@k11m1 Your approach of using a plain text editor is simple and works. It would be nice to have an app or programme that did the text entering and displayed it on a calendar screen; so it might be easier to find by date, or browse through.

There might be some apps in the Play store intended for journaling, maybe take a look and see if any fits the need?

I don't keep a journal, but do use a text editor to create blog posts in a similar manner.

@Shamar Welcome back, Shamar, hope all is well with you and the family. Keep safe, it was a very difficult time in Italy.

@snow Nice work.

Myself, I prefer the Dark Mode themes, and specially the Wide Screen modes that don't leave wasted space all around that central pane of toos. AWI enabled, plus Collapsed Mastodon, it gives me my favourite looks.

But everyone has their own preferences. 😃

@Sheyda_Pacheco Hola y bienvenida a Qoto!

@snow I think the word is out in their community, that you are the local Asian language cop. :)

I looked at the account you mentioned, and so far, nothing objectable. A really long post, maybe with a verbatim copy of any literary work (not theirs) would definitely be unacceptable.

"This account is for novels" as mentioned in the profile might mean the account is for discussing and posting about novels; which is not STEM but could be acceptable to me, better than some of the local accounts we tolerate currently.

@freemo

@khird @snow I like the idea of doing it on the client, simpler and can expose the added benefit to users. Later it could get added to the server itself.

@snow

That is an interesting idea - specially when you are trying to put out a nice and polished toot (a Blog announcement, a promotion message of some kind, etc).

I would suggest the title could be a more clear is this was called something like "Feature Request : Save as a Draft"

At first reading, I assumed the "Draft" in the header meant this was a preliminary version of your suggestion. I think this would be a useful feature.

I did not include Eugen in this reply, as he probably already has too many notifications at the moment. Let's see how people react and the comments. 😃

A rare and exquisite app stamp I found in a friend's collection.

The inscription below translates to "Muay Thai,
Thailand" - it might have been a special issue, time limited one. Pretty.
