This is what happened when people in the U.K. were asked how much health care costs in the U.S.

Remember that our outrageous for-profit system is not the norm in other countries.

We can and we must do better.

We need Medicare for All now.

Bots I wish we had. To bring content from the major Birdsite here...

* Scientific American ? https://twitter.com/sciam

* The Economist ? https://twitter.com/TheEconomist

(I found a fedi bot but it has posted only very few statuses. )

Others you would like to add?

The tool is currently NOT working, the domain toot.works seems to be parked, not in use.

I visited the author's projects page and sent a message, asking if it would be possible to get the source code, maybe get it installed somewhere else.

I think it's a very useful too, and could help us with the foreign language posts, as well as the users whose native language is not English and have some difficulty translating into it.

Will update with author's reply if I get one.

This seems like a wonderful tool, we could really benefit from it.

"Translate Your Status

To translate your status, include this anywhere in the status content:

@translator@toot.works LANGUAGE

Where LANGUAGE is the 2-letter language code for the language you wish to translate the status to (see the table below for a list of language codes)."

Had to check... 636 Tweets. Joined November 2011.

1,800+ posts, in a little less than a Month.

Feeling welcome here makes a big difference. Compare to birdsite, less than half that in years of use.

Thanks, #fediverse !

NOT Working. 😞

Visited domain site, and it's offline.

Found this morning. Many good resources, all linked from this page.

Testing a Translation bo for fediverse.

Check your Birdsite account, and the Toot should be there.

Screen capture confirms Success.

...as a simpler toot net has Success!

Watch the Toot Editor for the extension's post report. Here showing one that made it there. 🆗

alas, the message above, my first test -- did not work.

Twitter returns an Authenticate error message. I think they block the content really.

Cross-post you Toot directly from Mastodon to Twitter, aka Birdsite? *Easy* with browser extension.

* Firefox one here: https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/birdsite/

* Chrome if you prefer: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/birdsite/lfmfhaopllgidldpmifdcjdckdggdjaj

Clients for Mastodon, Pleroma instances? Mac, Linux, Windows supported.

* Whalebird * has some nice features -- like shortcuts for really quick replies, resizable Feed window widths.
