+ (some) keyboard navigation, (some) customization
- heavy (Electron), little bugs (keyboard scroll-down far enough and it randomly takes you to the top of the timeline)


+ Beautiful visual design, quick buttons for favourites, lists, etc.
- No keyboard navigation, archived project (no updates)


+ Quick to load, everything happens snappily
- pretty barebones, barely any customization

Does anyone use a desktop Mastodon client on ?

I'm trying . It has a couple nice features: keyboard navigation mainly (though even that's a bit clunky), and multi-account management. But it feels quite heavy - to blame maybe - and is pretty limited in customization options.

Twitodon twitodon.com/ serves as a connection point - if they have a mastodon and used Twitodon at any point, it'll recommend their mastodon profile to you. Even if they haven't, it'll register your twitter and mastodon association, so others can find *you* in the future.
There's also Fedifinder fedifinder.glitch.me/ that lets you check for the people you follow, and automatically extract any mastodon account mentioned in their Twitter profile.

Does types.pl block for some reason? Searching for users from there returns nothing, and trying to follow from their site leads to "error looking up this remote account"

* It offers a Markdown content-type

* Retoot often! Stars are silent!

* Editing a post deletes it and re-posts it. Comments might get orphaned!

* Some instances offer more features than others: for example, qoto.org has quoted toots (RT), Groups, LaTeX, way longer toots and more!

* Most instances offer an API for bots like @poptoots. Also, there's an instance for bots only: botsin.space

hey folks, how do I follow a hashtag on here? I see a subscribe icon next to a hashtag search in screenshots of other instances, but no such button in search results here.

Qoto has a quote-post feature btw, which I'm using right now to quote your post @woozle. I believe @freemo maintains his own fork of Mastodon that implements this. I rarely use it though, so I'm not sure how it's displayed in instances that don't support it.

I think we as a society need to get into the habit of voluntarily supporting social goods (open source software, creative commons content, decentralized social platforms etc.). We fail to appreciate the hard work of these altruistic good people and yield without resistance to the money-hungry evil corporations. It is where nobody demands you to pay that needs your money and support the most for their survival.

Quick tip: if you camelCase your hashtags, people who use screen readers will have an easier time with them.

So, for example: #twitterMigration or #TwitterMigration instead of #twittermigration

Thinking of my browser tabs as conference talk rooms helps with managing them, somehow.
"A talk on this would be vaguely interesting, but not worth my time" - close the tab.
"I might want to check out a recording of this talk later" - bookmark and close it.
"Worth listening to right here and now" - read the article/use the tool/process the tab right now.
